The Rieter C-51 carding machine is an industrial machine used in the textile industry. Its main function is to separate, clean, and parallelize fibers (whether natural, such as cotton, or synthetic) to transform them into a continuous sliver called “card sliver.”
The Rieter carding machine series, such as the C-51 and its variants, is characterized by its high efficiency in the delicate handling of fibers, improving the performance of the spinning process.
It is a fundamental link in the spinning process. Its main tasks include:
- Fiber Opening: Breaks down the clumps of pressed material from the opening room and opens them until the fibers are practically loose.
- Cleaning: Removes any remaining impurities (leaf fragments, dust, dirt) and eliminates short or damaged fibers.
- Parallelization: Aligns the fibers so they are oriented in the same direction.
- Sliver Formation: Gathers the processed fibers and deposits them in an orderly fashion inside a large cylindrical container (carding can), preparing them for subsequent processes such as drawing.
